Art Paris

I'm lucky enough to be involved with Art Paris coming up, a great fair that my gallery in Marseille, Dukan & Hourdequin will be representing me in....

It runs from March 19th- 23th, so, uh, if anyone from Paris reads this go check it out... But I've checked my stats on here and I don't think anyone from Paris actually reads this...

Here is a link to the fair
, and here are a few of the pieces I made for it... I've posted some of them on the blog before, I won't put them all up, but here are the majority of them...

SLICK 08

I'm in an art fair this upcoming weekend in Paris, SLICK 08. I'll be represented by the gallery I work with in Marseille, Galerie Dukan et Hourdequin. You can check out the link to the fair here.

Below are the drawings I did for it. I think it will be the last time I display grid drawings on their own, I think they are stronger when displayed alongside my other black and white work...

Arte Fiera in Bologna

So the new gallery I'm working with in Marseilles, Galerie Dukan&Hourdequin, is participating in Art Fiera in Bologna from Jan.24th - Jan.28th... Here is a link to more info about the fair...

I did four drawings for them to take, I'm starting to rework and play around with some of my old references, a couple of these characters were initially large mylar paintings...Click on the images, they are a lot clearer big...

These are the last bird/butterfly grid drawings!

TIAF this weekend

The Toronto International Art Fair is this weekend, I'm showing some work with LE. Gallery in booth 922. The fair is at the Convention Centre and runs until Monday, if you are in the area you should check it out. I'm going to go take in some art on Sunday I think...

The Road of Knives with Zak Smith and Shawn Cheng is starting up again... I finished my page tonight, um.... go easy on me, I'm not fantastic at drawing comics. Thats an understatement, I actually suck at drawing comics, but theres only one way to improve I guess...

The link on the side of this page won't take you to the road anymore, we have revamped the old material, cut more than half of it out, and are rebuilding it in pieces... Once we have the new stuff compiled I'll toss a link to it...

Here are a couple of drawings...

If I take good photos on sunday I'll post them here.

work for Volta in Switzerland

Sorry for the lack of updates, for the last little while I've just been hunched over my desk finishing my work for Volta which is coming up soon in Switzerland, so I haven't had that much to post. I've got black and white scans of the work here, the actual drawings are black on cream (like my previous sketchbook-style posts), but the colour scans are on my friend's computer, all I have on mine for now are these... I'll post the colour ones on my website shortly...

There are six pieces, each section of the grid is roughly the size of a nickle, and the series is entitled: "The 528 Fiercest Creatures in the Animal Kingdom".

rewind pt5

This is an old post that I started but never finished cause I couldn't get to a mac to upload photos from my camera onto...

Since I've come back to Canada I've:

- Lived with my parents long enough to finish some work for the Armory:

Here are some pics of the installation at the Armory... I didn't make it down there in person, thanks to my buddies Shauna and Brett for the photos...

Thats Zak's stuff on the right hand side there, I really wish i had a better shot of it...

- Set up a new studio in Toronto:

Here's my studiomate Tami, the room is split down the middle...She's got that red-eye thing going on in this pic... Wait, no, the picture is black and white. Why is this picture black and white?

This is the view from the fire escape, the studio is on the 8th floor of an industrial-ish building...

- Taken in some Jello Wrestling:

- Slept on a lot of couches/floors/other people's beds...

I've also drawn almost non-stop, i've posted a bit, and I'll keep posting more...
