booooorrrring....
So I think this post will be a little on the dull side, its just a few books and mags I've been in in the last little while... but not dull enough to not post it apparently, cause, I don't know, I like books and magazines and I get a little excited when my work gets printed in them...
Also, I appreciate when someone decides to put me in their publication, so this way I can help promote it for them a bit... But i don't think its very good promotion cause I don't think very many people really read my blog...
OK! Books! Magazines!
I'm particularly excited about this one:

It's entitled 'Illusive 2: Contemporary Illustration and its Context'. It's pretty huge, 340 pages lots of great interviews and examples of work... Its published by die gestalten verlag, one of my favourite publishers....
Ok, the next one is a Spanish magazine, its called Lamono, and we did a little interview a while back. The magazine has an awesome cover, some good art, and lots of pictures of pretty girls inside...

Ok, the last one actually came out a while ago, its a giant package from China called Plugzine vol. 2. The magazine is huge, tons of art in it (mostly from China and Japan), and comes with a blank sketchbook. I got 4 copies in the mail, so I have 4 new sketchbooks...

Ah, ok, thats it! The next post will be better, I got my new book in the mail! I'll photograph it and do a post soon...Oh, and I have photos from NYC last week, the trip was pretty awesome...

Cerberid
So I've got a bunch of stuff to post, some books and magazines I've been featured in over the last couple of months, and some studio shots, but I have no idea where my cord for my camera is... I know its here somewhere, or maybe Niki stole it....
So I've started my next solo show, it will be over a year before I finish it, its a pretty big undertaking so starting is a little daunting... I just found out that I'll be in Berlin sometime this year, Intoxicated Demons, Belio, and I are going to do a book launch there... what else? Uh... I'm going to NYC next week for my buddy Sean McCarthy's opening at Fredericks and Freiser... you can see his work here. Sean's work is intimidatingly good....
If you live in NYC and want to do something or meet at the show or whatever, shoot me an email at mediumphobic@gmail.com . I'm going down for 5 days, but I usually spend most of my time in my hotel drawing because I like to waste money...
Right now I'm finishing a piece to bring to NYC with me... I'm typing so much cause my fingers hurt so I'm avoiding sitting back down at my drafting table... ok, I guess I should go do more work.. Oh, I finished my new Road of Knives page a couple of days ago...
It's an arachnid take on Cerberus... I guess thats sorta obvious...

Arte Fiera in Bologna
So the new gallery I'm working with in Marseilles, Galerie Dukan&Hourdequin, is participating in Art Fiera in Bologna from Jan.24th - Jan.28th... Here is a link to more info about the fair...
I did four drawings for them to take, I'm starting to rework and play around with some of my old references, a couple of these characters were initially large mylar paintings...Click on the images, they are a lot clearer big...

These are the last bird/butterfly grid drawings!

Show up at the Whitney
My Cerberus piece is on display at the Whitney, its in a group show that will be up until February 17th. Here is their little blurb for the show on their site:
Two Years
on view October 17, 2007 - February 17, 2008
Acquisitions for the permanent collection are at the heart of the Museum's mission to present the work of American artists in the contexts of the present and the past, and in anticipation of the future. Two Years brings on view important gifts and purchases from 2006 and 2007.
I always wondered if the Whitney fucked up, assuming I was American, but I'm sure they do their research and it turns out there is another Canadian in the show as well. I'm going to be in NYC at the end of January, and I'm pretty excited to check out the show...
You can check out the Whitney's website here, and my piece got mentioned in a review, here.
Also, Andrew Wilson started a blog as well, and it is WAY better than mine...
